OTAP Sponsors Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run to Rebuild Schools Destroyed by Hurricane Melissa
OTAP is proud to have served as a Level II Sponsor of the Sagicor Sigma Corporate Run 2026, Jamaica’s premier corporate charity road race.
Under the powerful theme “Run for the West,” the event, held on February 15, 2026, focused on rebuilding five schools in western Jamaica that were severely devastated by Hurricane Melissa in late 2025: Salt Marsh Primary and Infant School, Mayfield Primary and Infant School, Hopewell High School, Green Pond High School, and Little London High School.
Hurricane Melissa struck the western parishes with catastrophic force, leaving roofs torn away, buildings severely damaged, and communities facing widespread disruption. Several schools were left unfit for learning, affecting thousands of students and families and interrupting the stability that education provides.
OTAP was honored to contribute J$500,000 to this national effort. The 28th staging of the Sigma Run brought together over 30,000 participants and raised more than J$152 million to support the urgent restoration of these institutions—helping to rebuild safe classrooms, strengthen infrastructure, and restore hope to the communities most affected.
Our partnership with Sagicor Group Jamaica and the Sagicor Foundation reflects OTAP’s continued commitment to corporate social responsibility, education, and community resilience.
We extend sincere thanks to the organizers, sponsors, participants, and supporters who made this year’s event such a meaningful success. Together, we are helping to rebuild not only schools, but stronger futures for western Jamaica.
